When you read 1 Peter 2:18-25, you remember how long ago the Bible was written, and how different the world was in the days of Jesus and the apostles. Can a passage that says “Slaves obey your masters” have any meaning in 2017? Or can we identify, in any way, with John 10:1-18 where all the talk about shepherds and sheep rustlers seems to have been written for a time long past with which we have little contact now? Can the Bible and its message mean anything for us in a world of wrist computers and self-driving cars? It can be done, but it is, as Robert’s message this week tells us, “A Hard, Rocky Way.” Join us for worship at 9:30 a.m. this Sunday.
