Real Life , is a Mission Partner of New Hanover. They reached out to us, looking for support for their Project SAF (Safe, Alive, and Free) initiative, to collect new or gently used Halloween costumes and accessories that will be distributed to children in high-risk areas. Most of these children don’t have costumes and only have a plastic bag or an emptied-out school backpack to collect candy. Project SAF targets high poverty neighborhoods most at risk of violent crimes in Richmond, Petersburg, and Hopewell. Your donation of Halloween costumes and accessories will help make Halloween special for the children living in these neighborhoods and demonstrate the loving concern that has been proven to reduce violent crime.
The collection has started and we will continue through September 30. Drop off your donations here at the church, 10058 Chamberlayne Road, Mechanicsville, VA, M-F, 9-1 pm. Or bring them on Sunday if you come to worship!
