We call the first Sunday of each month “Food for Thought” Sunday, because it is the designated service for collecting food items and monetary donations for local organizations that need food to help men, women, and children in need. Through our Mission Team, we support Mechanicsville Churches Emergency Functions (MCEF) and Shepherd’s Way Relief Center (SWRC).
MCEF – MCEF is accepting monetary donations, as well as food and other items. These can be made through your church contributions (designate MCEF) or through the MCEF website. https://www.4mcef.com/ . Click here for a list of their needs.
SWRC – SWRC is accepting food items that are small, single serving size and easy to prepare, as well as clothing and personal care items. Their food pantry is in need of peanut butter, Vienna sausages, instant soup bowls, canned tuna, ground coffee (large tins), canned ravioli, crackers, etc.
Please drop off items for both Shepherd’s Way Relief Center (SWRC) and MCEF at our church office from 9:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m. Tuesday or Friday. Donation boxes will be outside the front door of the church so you won’t need to come inside.
