Join us, Saturday, October 14, for the Circles Ashland Community Action Poverty Simulation at New Hanover Presbyterian Church. (10058 Chamberlayne Rd, Mechanicsville, VA 23116)
As part of our partnership, NHPC is honored to co-host a Poverty Simulation Event with Circles Ashland. The poverty simulation experience is designed to help participants get a small taste of what it might be like to live in a family trying to live month-to-month on an extremely limited income. Through taking on the roles of family members and community staffers such as bankers, social service case workers, and police officers, it is hoped that participants will gain increased awareness and sensitivity to how hard it is to live below the poverty line. This simulation aims to foster empathy and understanding within our community.
The event begins with check-in and coffee at 8:30, simulation starting at 9:00, and a lunch from 12:00-12:30. For more detailed information about the event, click here.
