Honor is something we think of as singular – a medal given to one person at a special ceremony, or a title bestowed on an especially accomplished individual. We are always looking for the exceptional, the talented and the fortunate to boost them even higher than they already are. However, in the world of the Gospel, honor means something completely different. In our second sermon in this series on the Reformation we will look at how Luther’s ideas on grace and faith sought to ennoble the common person. Our scriptures this week are Psalm 119:17-24, Exodus 20:8-12 and Romans 12:9-21.
