Since March 22, 2020, we have been enjoying a virtual Sunday worship service. This service is a blended service, containing many elements from our Presbyterian and Reformed heritage.

Our pastor, Rev. Robert Johnson, delivers a brief meditation. The New Hanover Choir and New Hanover Ringers add to the service with traditional hymns and contemporary songs. Members of our congregation participate from their homes, through prayer and scripture readings. A Children’s Time is offered weekly, along with a time for Prayers of the People.

We embrace that “A church is the people, not the building.”

On the first Sunday of each month, Holy Communion is served. Those participating from their homes are asked to have their own elements ready prior to the start of the service.

We also have a special offering, Food For Thought, on the first Sunday of each month, supporting those in need, locally. The third Sunday of the month is designated as Mission Sunday, with a special offering supporting those in need, throughout the world.

Our service typically runs about 35 minutes and can be found on our YouTube channel, premiering each Sunday morning at 9:30 a.m.

An email goes out each week with a link to the service, along with a link to our virtual Coffee Hour (Zoom) and Adult Sunday School (Zoom). These services can also be accessed here on the NHPC website, and on our FaceBook page, after the premiere.

As of September 20, 2020, we are now offering a limited face-to-face service in our Ellett Pavilion. This service starts at 10:00 a.m. Reservations are required for this service, and social distancing guidelines are mandatory.
